The UW Oshkosh campus is located along the Fox River in a city of 66,000 that is famous for its history and noted for modern commercial and cultural development. Bounded by lakes, rivers and nearby forested recreational areas, Oshkosh is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the state.

and natural resource areas, multiple golf courses, museums and art galleries, a library, a zoo and movie theater. Oshkosh is the home of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), which hosts AirVenture for one week each year attracting more than 500,000 aviation enthusiasts from more than 60 countries.
Oshkosh conveniently resides along the Fox River and Lake Butte des Morts, as well as the western shore of Lake Winnebago providing numerous marinas, boat landings, beaches and waterfront restaurants throughout the city.

Labeled as Wisconsin’s Event City, Oshkosh provides a series of attractions ranging from many different areas of interest. Oshkosh is the home of the Paine Art Center and Gardens, where visitors may explore 20 garden areas highlighting a variety of plants and flowers. The Paine also is home to more than 1,000 art pieces, both indoors and outdoors. With a diverse variety of events taking place each month, the Paine Art Center and Gardens is a great place to explore while in Oshkosh.
Oshkosh is also the home of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), with a museum holding over 200 historic aircraft and a KidVenture Gallery giving children a hands on experience in aviation. The EAA hosts an annual week long event called AirVenture, which attracts more than 500,000 visitors each year. AirVenture is the largest aviation show in the world and happens right here in Oshkosh, Wisconsin!
Any Oshkosh native is eager to attend Waterfest, a summer concert series that hosts weekly concerts for the community to enjoy. Waterfest takes place in our outdoor Leach Amphitheater and has drawn well-known artists, such as The Fray, Smashmouth, The BoDeans, and many more!

Aside from the vast array of events going on in Oshkosh, the city is conducive to raising a family in every way possible. From the well known school districts and hospitals to the very fairly priced outlet mall, Oshkosh provides a happy and healthy family life for each and every one of its residents.
Oshkosh is home to one of the best school systems in the nation offering a variety of educational programs to its community. There are fifteen elementary schools, five middle schools, two high schools, and four charter schools available within the public school system. Oshkosh also has two hospitals newly built since 2000, accommodating many specialized medical needs for the members of its community. Mercy Medical Center is conveniently located in a residential area on the southwest side of Oshkosh. Mercy provides 157 patient beds and more than 300 medical staff. Secondly, Aurora Medical Center is located on the north side of the city and provides specialized cancer care, cardiology, emergency care, and neurological care, just to name a few.

With weekly book clubs for all ages, family storytime, and numerous holiday themed events, the Oshkosh Public Library is a great place for families to visit and enjoy. Additionally, for those interested in exercise and wellness, there are multiple YMCA facilities here in Oshkosh. Oshkosh is home to a brand new YMCA facility where programs focusing in youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility are provided to its members. Memberships are very reasonable with regard to pricing and are very popular amongst UW Oshkosh employees!

Oshkosh is also home to a very popular outlet mall providing a diverse range of shoppes to the community. All items and products available are sold at an extended discount making it an affordable option for those interested.
