Thanks to everyone who joined us today at our monthly HR Connections meeting.

1. Title and Total Compensation (TTC) Study Update
  • Phase I is complete
  • Phase II is beginning:
    • Currently: reviewing and gaining feedback on the proposed job families & sub-families
      • HR is meeting with executive leadership, & others they invite, to go over job families/sub-families to ensure the positions in their areas are being accurately reflected
      • Feedback on job families/sub-families is also coming from UWO TTC Project Team members (meet monthly) and the USS & SAS groups
    • All UW Institutions (including Madison) will have the same job family structure

2. Recruitment Update
  • After a new employee accepts their contract…
    • They are not automatically entered into HRS; it is a manual process
    • Once they are entered, their UWO email address is generated
      • ADA’s will eventually be granted access to Local People Soft (LPS) where they can see if/when their new employee has been entered into HRS
    • If an employee who was once a student wants an employee email address, they need to contact IT/Help Desk
    • The new on-boarding process provides new employees with a checklist in their on-boarding portal (new employees will receive an email with this info)
  • Interim/Acting positions need to go through the initial PageUp process for approvals before the position begins
  • Terminations:
    • As soon as you know one of your employees is leaving, HR needs a signed resignation letter and PTF form to avoid paying employees that are no longer working

4. Benefits Update
  • Open enrollment dates: October 2-27, 2017
  • Benefits Fair: October 13, 2017 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Reeve Union Ballroom
  • Informational and Open Lab sessions are available! We encourage you to attend
  • Be proactive! Contact your doctor, do your research, utilize ALEX  to ensure you are selecting the benefits that are right for you
